Sreileak Hour graduated from Scripps College with a degree in Economics. She is currently the co-founder of Alpha Water & Electric Supply, a company providing water treatment chemicals and electric appliances to piped water operators throughout Cambodia. Previously, she worked at Credit Bureau Cambodia (CBC) as a Product Executive and at CBRE Cambodia as an Analyst. She is passionate about helping the Cambodian people, especially those in rural areas, by boosting their living standards.
Sreileak spent her junior year abroad at the London School of Economics, where she was the President of the Cambodian Student Association and served over 200 Cambodian students in the United Kingdom. Sreileak spent summer 2019 interning at the venture capital firm Ooctane, a Worldbridge group firm, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Back in the United States, she held internships with AnnieCannons and Fortress Investment Group LLC. At Fortress, she researched and analyzed financial instruments and investment deals. In 2017, Sreileak was an intern at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia, a branch of the Ministry of Economics and Finance.
Her parents, having survived the Cambodian genocide, were not able to complete their elementary education. Instead, they worked as vendors at a local market to provide for their family. Because of this, Sreileak has always been motivated to get an education. Prior to joining SHE-CAN, Sreileak received a full scholarship to the University of Cambodia to study English Literature. She also pursued a second degree at Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia, where she was majoring in economics.
