Mamuyan, from Voinjama in Lofa County, Liberia, grew up in a family of 15, including a subsistence farmer father, a mother who worked as a cleaner at Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital, a mechanic uncle, and an aunt who sold charcoal. She currently lives with her aunt and her aunt’s husband. Mamuyan attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, where she earned a scholarship and consistently excelled academically, later graduating as Salutatorian and the first female to earn the highest WASSCE results at Seku Ibrahim Sheriff’s High School.
