CeCe Kwenah studied International Affairs and graduated from Lafayette College. She is the President of the African and Caribbean Students Association where she supervises the club’s affairs and fosters a welcoming environment for all board and club members. She is also a Co-President of the National Society of Leadership and Success (Lafayette Chapter) and a Resident Advisor on campus. As a Resident Advisor, CeCe devotes her time, energy, and leadership skills to creating educational, cultural, and fun community-building programs while representing the needs of students, in collaboration with student residents and management staff.
CeCe began holding leadership positions at a young age. She attended leadership seminars and workshops and participated in several programs at the U.S. Embassy in Liberia, earning certifications for Civic Leadership and Public Management Training, Youth Female Leaders Dialogue on Elections Process, and Women’s Leadership Conference on Gender Bias, among others. She also built garbage cans for her community, and undertook an initiative to educate people about the environmental consequences of littering.
In high school, CeCe frequently represented her school in public speaking and performance events held locally and nationally. She consistently spoke about corruption in schools, and how young people can resist corruption by speaking on the ELBC, Liberia’s national radio station. CeCe’s enthusiasm for early childhood education is demonstrated through founding and being the current director of the nonprofit Think Kids Liberia. Her nonprofit empowers children in Liberia through funding for child advocacy and education.
