SHE-CAN Scholar: Agnes “Queen” Parker

Agnes, a native of Kakata City in Margibi County, was raised in a modest family of 13, consisting of farmers, contractors, and business workers—a background that has shaped her resilience and drive for change. She completed her high school education in Margibi and later attended Kakata Community High School, where she took on several leadership roles, including vice president of the student body and captain of both the debate and girls quizzing teams. She serves as an ambassador for the Nyoubee Kargar Lawrence National Mentorship Program, where she raises awareness on issues like rape and trauma, and facilitates leadership roundtables through the Equip Leadership Project.

Additionally, she serves as County Coordinator for the Young Ambassadors for Peace and as a Gender Coordinator, roles that have strengthened her communication and leadership skills. Agnes’ goal is to create a digital platform for community leaders to report injustice and promote transparency, working toward a more just and inclusive society where every voice is heard.
