SHE-CAN Scholar: Sreynich Vann

Sreynich, also known as “Nich,” is a young woman whose strength and determination are deeply rooted in the resilience of her parents. Raised by Chenda and Sophal—two individuals shaped by early adversity—Nich grew up with a deep understanding of independence and the value of perseverance. Her father’s journey through instability and hard labor, and her mother’s experience of growing up quickly to support her siblings, taught Nich the importance of grit and compassion. Despite moments of doubt and hardship, she finds strength in her mother’s words and her father’s example, using their stories as a constant source of motivation. Alongside her father, she actively participates in local volunteer work, and she shares a special bond with her mother through their shared love of learning. Passionate about environmental preservation, Nich has pursued online studies in marine biology and interned with APSARA, where she explored the connections between history and ecology. She dreams of a sustainable future, where science and care for the Earth guide progress.
