SHE-CAN Scholar: Pichanbormey “Violette” Pisith

Violette was born and raised in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in a family of six that includes her parents and three younger sisters. Her mother runs a self-owned business, and Violette contributes to the family income by working as a private English tutor and a receptionist at a local clinic. She graduated from Home of Khmer High School and also completed the General English Program at the Home of English, finishing at the top of her class. Violette holds several certificates from the Australian Centre for Education, where she completed diploma courses in Public Speaking, Debate, and Business Communication Skills. She considers her most significant leadership experience becoming a SHE-CAN candidate, a role that has deepened her passion for social impact.

She was recently selected as a Youth Peacebuilder and Ambassador of the Khmer-Chinese Ethnic Group for the Seeds of Peace 2025 Project. With a personal history of having her own voice suppressed, Violette is determined to empower others and help transform her country for the better.
