SHE-CAN Scholar: Tarlee Dahn

Tarlee Dahn is the first SHE-CAN scholar to graduate from Babson College. Her concentrations were in Environmental Sustainability and Strategy & Consulting. She is a Global Scholar, a Natalie Taylor Scholar, and a Glavin Global Fellow. Tarlee was awarded funding through  a social impact project focused on advancing environmental sustainability and food security in Liberia during the summer of 2023.

Tarlee graduated from high school as valedictorian, continuing on to the University of Liberia to study Biology with an emphasis in Environmental Science. At Babson, Tarlee has served as Account Manager for the Sustainability Club, which strives to engage and empower students to be leaders. Tarlee also builds community by serving as a Resident Assistant, an Education Abroad Peer Advisor, and a Babson African Student Organization Representative.

During her first summer in the U.S., Tarlee worked as an Academic Mentor for the Babson College Summer Study Program, mentoring two teams of high school students from different countries. She has interned with the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships and ClearlyEnergy, where she worked on energy efficiency and decarbonization projects. Tarlee spent a semester doing a Business and International Affairs program in France.

Before coming to the U.S., Tarlee worked at the Paramount Young Women Initiative on a gender-based violence project that the European Union sponsored through OXFAM Liberia. She also completed a finance internship at ActionAid Liberia in 2018 and volunteered there for many years, including helping spearhead the “16 Days of Activism” campaign through the advocacy group Safe Cities for Women. She focused on raising awareness about gender-based violence through local radio talk shows, workshops in high schools, and community meetings to openly discuss issues with the public. Tarlee plans to leverage environmental sustainability and business expertise to develop strategic and practical solutions that empower communities.
