SHE-CAN Scholar: Jocelyn Mizero

Jocelyn Mizero graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in Biology. She is currently in a medical school at the University of Ghana Medical School, one of the oldest and best medical schools in Africa. She expects to graduate in 2025.

After graduating from Lafayette in 2018, Jocelyn worked with Partners in Health in Rwanda, a non-profit focused on improving access to health care. At PIH, she led quality improvement and research efforts to improve surgical access. Jocelyn also worked for the Tiba Foundation as a Program Development Associate and Development & Communications Intern.

During her time at Lafayette, Jocelyn was involved with the International Students Association as a Peer Advisor, the Landis Community Outreach Center as a Program Coordinator and Residence Life as a Resident Advisor.  She interned at Partners in Health (PIH) in Rwanda and at Matibabu Foundation Hospital in Kenya. She also worked as a Medical Assistant at Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology. These experiences solidified her interest in pursuing a career in medicine and global health.
