Irene Marie Yayishimiye graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in French Literature. After graduating from MSU, Irene began working as a Software Engineer with NetApp, a cloud data service company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She hopes to contribute to the growing tech industry in Rwanda, especially by inspiring more women to join STEM.
Throughout her time at Michigan State, Irene was a mentor with the Women in Engineering Club, where she advised freshmen women engineers. Irene also spent a summer interning with Zipline International Inc, a drone medical delivery system in Rwanda, where she worked as a flight operations intern. Irene was awarded the prestigious MasterCard Foundation Scholarship to attend Michigan State University.
