Guech Sok graduated from Beloit College with a degree in Environmental Biology. Guech is working as an Environmental Analyst with the Natural Sciences Unit of UNESCO Phnom Penh Office, where she strengthens the coordination around the Tonle Sap Bioshere Reserve and to preserve its resources and promote livelihood development.
At Beloit College, Guech was an executive team member of the Beloit Urban Garden. In summer of 2020, Guech was an intern at Fauna in Focus, Siem Reap, an NGO that focuses on conservation of wildlife animals and biodiversity in Cambodia. Throughout her internship, she assisted with the development of an educational nature trail, a model farm and a tree nursery station.
Guech also spent a semester at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2019 and then again in 2020. At Otago, she took courses related to Botany and Environment in Oceanial – learning about the documentation of native flowers and plants in order to preserve them.
Before she joined SHE-CAN and came to the U.S, Guech was selected to study at Warsaw University of Life sciences, Poland for a semester. There, she learned about the agriculture system in European countries and took courses relating to landscape architecture such as garden design.
