Assumpta Gasana graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Civil Engineering & French. Currently, Assumpta is working as a Project Engineer for John Moriarty & Associates in Washington D.C.
In 2018, Assumpta and a fellow Rwandan student entered a Bucknell business venture competition, BizPitch, for their project “Sci-Touche,” a program for school-aged Rwandan students to practice hands-on science experiments at the Kigali Public Library. They won the Audience Favorite Award and the World Change Maker Award. Following their win, they brought their project to another business competition, the “Davis Project for Peace,” and won a very competitive across-school grant. With the funding they received, Sci-Touche began to be implemented in Rwanda last year. Last summer, Assumpta interned at John Moriaty & Associates in Virginia, working on a construction project in DC, and she will be returning to intern for them again this summer. The summer after her sophomore year, Assumpta completed an internship with the Rwanda Housing Authority.
