SHE-CAN Scholar: Ariane Irafasha

Ariane Irafasha graduated from Beloit College with a double major in Quantitative Economics and Health & Society and a minor in French. Ariane is now a Talent Acquisition Assistant at the City of Lincoln in Nebraska. In Summer 2021, she interned with SCAN Health Plan, a medicare advantage insurance company based Long Beach, California, as a strategy intern. During her time at SCAN Health Plan, Ariane immersed herself in a project aiming to find different ways to differentiate SCAN from other medicare advantage plans that delivered senior services in the same region. Ariane also studied abroad at University of Essex to further her studies. 

Throughout her time at Beloit, Ariane was involved with the Afro-Caribbean Society, Black Students United Club, French Club, and the International Students Club. Before she joined SHE-CAN and came to the U.S., Ariane was part of the debate club, leader and founder of Spartans club and head-girl at her secondary school. She also interned at Roots, Inc., a South Africa based organization that aims to educate the people of Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa on how to tackle real-life challenges through the screening of influential movies and documentaries. Ariane hopes to use her U.S degree to sustain Rwanda’s development initiatives.
