2015 Rwandan Cohort of Scholars Visits Local Secondary School By Marie Grace Imanariyo
Recently, the five young women who make-up the 2015 Rwandan Cohort visited the White Dove Girls’ School in Kigali to talk about our journey through SHE-CAN. We shared with them how we got into SHE-CAN and how we managed to succeed in all the interviews. We told them how good it is to be prepared for your future goals when you are still young; for example all of us who dreamt about studying in the US and now we are finally reaching that goal. We shared with the girls how important it is to be focused, determined and to participate in activities.
We went on to tell them how SHE-CAN impacted our lives. How our English has improved, as well as our leadership skills, and how we also did learn a lot. In addition, we also shared with them one of the things that makes SHE-CAN unique, which is being assigned mentors and how they help you throughout your journey.
